Summary:
Under the direction of the Associate Vice President of Internal Audit, this position will plan and conduct audits of Northern Light Health and any of its members. In carrying out these activities, the auditor shall have full, free and unrestricted access to all functions, records, property, and personnel. The Senior Internal Auditor should be strong in analytics and have well-developed written and verbal communication skills. The Senior Internal Auditor should possess personal computer proficiency, a commitment to high quality customer service and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities. The Senior Internal Auditor must have a high degree of honesty and professionalism and possess interpersonal skills necessary to develop and foster relationships with various levels of management at the various Northern Light Health members.
Responsibilities:
+ Has well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
+ Build and maintains credibility and collaborative working relationships with audit clients at all levels at both the home office and member locations.
+ Handles deadlines and multiple projects to ensure audit plans are accomplished as approved.
+ Seeks new, automated, or more efficient audit techniques and processes to increase internal audit efficiency and effectiveness.
+ Completes necessary continuing education to maintain professional licenses and/or certifications.
+ Works with Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint, Lawson, Siemens, Cerner, PowerChart, Surginet, and 3M Systems as necessary.
+ Assists with the annual risk assessment process and development of the annual audit plan.
+ Performs and/or supervises audits in a professional manner and in accordance with the approved audit program.
+ Plans the scope and objectives of audits. Prepares the audit program and determines the audit procedures to be used.
+ Obtains, analyzes, and appraises evidentiary data as a basis for an informed, objective written opinion on the adequacy and effectiveness of the system and efficiency of system activities being performed.
+ Documents all work performed and conclusions made.
+ Prepares formal written reports ensuring audit objectives are met, conclusions are documented and supported, and recommendations are clear and concise.
+ Makes oral and written presentations to management during and at the conclusion of the audit, discussing deficiencies, recommending corrective action, and suggesting improvements in operations.
+ Performs follow-up procedures to determine whether recommendations have been implemented.
+ Makes presentations to Northern Light Health Management and the Audit and Compliance Committee of the Board as requested, describing audits performed, audit results, and corrective actions.
+ Assists with the development of the annual audit plan based on system needs and risk assessment.
+ Provides technical assistance to internal and external audit staff as necessary.
+ Plans the scope and objectives of each audit and prepares the audit program.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
Other Information:
Bachelors degree or experience in the legal industry.
