    Job Overview

    Job Summary:

    The Lead Licensed Psychotherapist provides leadership to the team overseeing day-to-day program processes to ensure consistent, high quality service delivery and active, appropriate responses to routine clinical events as delegated by the Clinical Manager. The Lead Licensed Psychotherapist provides direct care to patients depending on the program’s clinical focus and related duties, they may be responsible for the following, individual, group, and family therapy. This role ensures that patient care and documentation meet regulatory standards for the program. Completes Diagnostic assessment and bills under a physician as needed for program.

    Job Expectations:

    Assumes responsibility for the operations of the program.

     

    • Supervises overall operation and activities of the unit.

    • Prioritizes and organizes tasks and services.

    • Assumes a variety of clinical patient care duties.

    • Serves as a resource to ensure timely and regulatory compliant documentation of pertinent patient care data.

    • Works in collaboration with Clinical Systems Manager to determine staffing needs.

    • Coordinates program schedule changes as needed to provide continuity of patient care.

    • Maintains required, appropriate, and timely communication and correspondence with treatment authorization and payer sources in a manner which promotes efficient and effective delivery of clinical services.

    • Demonstrates clinical competence in the treatment planning process.

    • Facilitates treatment planning and oversee management of each case.

    • Coordinates/facilitates the development of treatment plan by collaborating with patient, family and interdisciplinary team.

    • Develops an individualized plan based on age, social and cultural considerations, clinical diagnosis, level of functioning and other relevant needs.

    • Implements, reassesses and adjust treatment plan as necessary.

     

    Demonstrates clinical competence to assess individual patient needs.

     

    • Completes an interdisciplinary assessment tool with each patient where appropriate.

    • Updates interdisciplinary assessments tool each week where appropriate.

     

    Demonstrates clinical competency to partner with multi-disciplinary team in the treatment planning process.

     

    • Assists in developing an individualized plan based on age, social and cultural considerations, clinical diagnosis, level of functioning and other relevant needs.

    • Implements, reassesses and adjusts treatment plan as necessary.

    • Communicates frequently and effectively with interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity and coordination of care.

    • Documentation is thorough, timely, legible and clinically appropriate and meets regulatory requirements.

     

    Demonstrates competence in developing a clinically relevant transition/discharge plan.

     

    • Collaborates with patient, family, and provides input to interdisciplinary team in developing a discharge plan based on age, social and cultural considerations, clinical diagnosis and level of functioning and other relevant needs.

     

    Demonstrates clinical competence in conducting group therapy, family therapy and psycho-education groups.

     

    • Provides individual, couples and family therapy.

    • Documents thoroughly, timely, legible and clinically appropriate.

     

    Demonstrates the ability to advance evidence-based practice by utilizing standards, guidelines and pathways for care delivery. Incorporates data and information into practice to continually improve care and practice so that patient outcomes are enhanced.

    Promotes a culture of evidence-based practice by participation in any of, but not limited to, the following activities:

    • Utilizing evidence-based policies in clinical practice

    • Attends and participates in learning opportunities about evidence-based practice

    • Membership in hospital or unit-based practice council/research council

    • Evidence based practice project (e.g. policy development or poster presentation)

    • Journal club, journal article critique and circulation

    • Literature review

    • Development of standard/pathway/guideline for patient care

    • Presentation

    • Research study

     

    Responds and participates in Behavior Control Situations (BCS) and CPR where applicable.

     

    Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served.

     

    • Partners with patient care giver in care/decision making.

    • Communicates in a respective manner.

    • Ensures a safe, secure environment.

    • Individualizes plan of care to meet patient needs.

    • Modifies clinical interventions based on population served.

    • Provides patient education based on as assessment of learning needs of patient/care giver.

    Minimum Qualifications to Fulfill Job Responsibilities:

    Required

    Education

    • Master’s degree in psychology, social work, nursing or closely related field.

    Experience

    • 2 years supervised therapy experience in mental health including assessment, individual, group and family therapy.

    License/Certification/Registration - One of the following licenses

    + Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker,

    + Licensed Psychologist

    + Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor

    + or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

     

    Preferred

    Experience

    • 1 year of leadership experience.

    License/Certification/Registration

    •Licensed Alcohol Drug Counselor preferred in addition to required clinical licensure

    Compensation Disclaimer

     

    The posted pay range is for a 40-hour workweek (1.0 FTE). The actual rate of pay offered within this range may depend on several factors, such as FTE, skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions. Additionally, our organization values pay equity and considers the internal equity of our team when making any offer. Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical.
