    Job Description

    The Epic Technical Lead provides strategic and operational leadership for Epic release management, Data Courier administration, and print infrastructure, coordinating across application, technical, and vendor teams.

     

    • Lead and manage Epic release activities, coordinating between application teams, technical teams, and Epic (vendor) technical/support teams.

    • Align release management processes with industry best practices a

    • Oversee environment planning, release authorizations, change control alignment, and technical readiness for upgrades and go-lives.

    • Architect and maintain Epic infrastructure modules (Hyperspace, Interconnect, EpicCareLink, Healthy Planet, HSW, Web Blob, EPS, Kuiper, System Pulse) as needed and in collaboration with the technical team.

    • Administer and supervise Nova and Sherlock user provisioning, access, and Nova note distribution workflows.

    • Provide Data Courier administration, including managing data courier jobs, troubleshooting transfer issues, coordinating with technical teams for environment refreshes, and ensuring compliance with Epic release protocols.

    • Mentor and support colleagues, establishing efficient standard operating procedures and documentation.

    • Provide meaningful and timely leadership reporting on release status, risks, decisions, and outcomes.

    • Optimize Epic printing build and support processes and align print infrastructure with industry best practices, focusing on reducing technical debt and improving reliability.

    • Document print architecture, dependencies, and operational runbooks for repeatability and scalability.

    • Implement a division of labor for Epic printing and other Epic release administration functions, assigning the Epic Technical Maintenance Analyst routine build, validation, troubleshooting, ticket triage, Nova and Sherlock administration, Data Courier administration, and documentation, enabling senior technical resources to focus on strategic initiatives and higher-value work.

    • Drive cross-functional coordination with Field Services, Epic Application teams, Infrastructure/Windows Server teams, networking/security, and the Epic Printing Specialist Contractor for print connectivity and rule sets.

    • Provide escalation support for high-impact outages and patient-care-affecting printing issues.

    • Foster a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement.

    • Lead planning and readiness for Epic printing needs of new locations, expansions, and department moves.

    Skills and Requirements

     

    5+ years as a Technical Lead

     

    Proven track record managing Epic release management, Data Courier administration, and print infrastructure.

     

    Hands-on experience with Epic upgrades, environment planning, and go-live readiness

     

    Proficiency in Nova and Sherlock administration for user provisioning and note distribution

     

    Must work PST hours

     

    Expertise with Data courier administration ECSA or Data Courier Admin certification
