    Job Duties: Examples of work for this specific vacancy include but are not limited to:

    + Support of lead project manager in preparing design memos, complete streets documents, scoping reports/exhibits, and project submittal packages.

    + Provide support in the following areas:Cost Estimates, Project Charters (Planning Reports).

    + Assist in the utility coordination process on projects to ensure companies have adequate knowledge of projects and are aware of any adjustments, relocations or agreements that are needed.

    + Assist in the paperwork and process of procuring consultants to work on district projects.

    + Assist in the District’s public involvement process so that the public has an understanding of proposed projects and an early opportunity to provide input into the project development.

    + Perform special studies and special projects as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications

    **Experience:** The level of experience to perform this job at the Transportation Specialist level can be achieved with:

    + Four years of experience performing design activities or related activities.

    OR

    + A combination of one year experience performing preliminary design, roadway or bridge construction, materials, soils, surveys, and/or right of way activities may substitute for one year of experience performing design activities.

    + **Education Substitution:** A Two year Civil or Construction Technology Degree or the following four-year degrees:Architectural, Civil or Mechanical Engineering; Land Surveying / Geomatics; or equivalent may substitute for one year of experience. (In order for education coursework to be considered in lieu of work experience you must submit a copy of your transcripts.)

    + Working knowledge of English sufficient to read, write, speak and understand oral and written information; communicate with employees and the general public in-person or via two-way radio and other electronic devices; and to maintain routine written logs and simple records.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Previous MnDOT experience working as a Transportation Generalist or Transportation Generalist Senior
