As an Intern O&M Gas Systems Engineer working in the fast-paced Operations & Maintenance Gas Services team, you will be instrumental in supporting safe, reliable, and efficient gas delivery systems for Micron’s semiconductor manufacturing operations. This work takes place in an advanced facility environment where precision and safety are paramount.
Your focus will be on engineering, maintaining, and optimizing gas systems to meet operational demands while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues, lead improvement initiatives, and manage projects that enhance system performance and reliability.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
+ Ensure compliance with all Micron safety policies and environmental regulations, including PPE, lockout/tagout, and chemical safety.
+ Lead quality improvement initiatives to reduce Fab impacts, improve efficiency, and drive cost savings.
+ Own and maintain construction specifications, design standards, and procedural checklists for gas systems.
+ Provide technical leadership in troubleshooting and lessons-learned activities.
+ Communicate proactively with stakeholders to resolve equipment/process issues and maximize reliability.
+ Collaborate with global peers to benchmark standards and share best-known methods for gas systems.
+ Manage complex, multi-disciplinary projects using systematic project management methodologies.
+ Prepare project scopes, coordinate design reviews, and ensure deliverables meet scope, schedule, and budget.
+ Support installation, commissioning, and startup of new facilities infrastructure.
+ Analyze system data to improve performance, gain efficiency, and support capacity planning.
+ Perform root cause analysis and risk assessments to eliminate single points of failure.
+ Partner with vendors to design and implement improvements to existing systems and develop new solutions.
+ Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including TPM metrics and CIP items.
Ideal candidate qualifications:
+ Strong understanding of gas delivery systems, process flow, and semiconductor facility operations.
+ Proven ability to manage projects and communicate complex technical information effectively.
+ Proficiency in data analysis, troubleshooting, and risk mitigation.
+ Excellent organizational, leadership, and collaboration skills.
+ Familiarity with engineering tools and software such as MS Office, Tableau, AutoCAD, and SAP.
Education and Experience:
+ Required: Working towards Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or related technical field.
