Histotechnology Assistant – Full-Time/Day Shift
Department: Pathology Laboratory
About the Role
Join our Lab Department as a Histotechnology Assistant. You will support pathology services by accurately handling, accessioning, and preparing specimens for diagnostic evaluation. Assist with histology and cytology procedures, maintain quality control standards, and ensure efficient workflow.
Key Responsibilities
+ Accession and prepare pathology specimens for processing.
+ Perform staining, coverslipping, and assist with frozen sections.
+ Support cytology preparations, including liquid-based PAPs.
+ Maintain lab equipment and perform quality control checks.
+ Monitor inventory and ensure proper storage/disposal of specimens.
+ Assist pathologists and pathology assistants as needed.
Qualifications
+ High School diploma required; Associate degree in science preferred.
+ Minimum 12 science credit hours required.
+ One year experience in histology or cytology preparation preferred.
+ Knowledge of medical terminology and lab safety practices.
