The Engineering Technician will provide in-service engineering support for the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Divisions (NAWCAD), Webster Outlying Field (WOLF), Combat Integration & Identification Systems (CI&IDS) Division for Counter Unmanned Air Systems (C-UAS). The incumbent will perform installation, maintenance, and inspection of C-UAS systems and subsystems in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes and industry standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Engineering Technician will be responsible for:
+ Conducting installations and maintenance for Counter-UAS systems and sub-systems at domestic and international sites
+ Conducting systems inspections in accordance with Government approved platform inspection procedures
+ Generating inspection reports
+ Assisting in the development and review of design documentation including schematics, designs, specifications, electrical drawings, and parts lists
+ Conducting tests and redesigns to include preparing and operating equipment, recording and analyzing data, and preparing test result reports
+ Selecting and modifying a variety of test equipment and procedures
+ Developing experimental or prototype models to meet requirements
+ Applying advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturers' manuals or similar documents. Examples of such problems include determining the location and density of circuitry, evaluating electromagnetic radiation, isolating malfunctions, and incorporating engineering changes.
+ Exercising independent judgment in performing such tasks as making circuit analyses, calculating wave forms, and tracing relationships in signal flow, using complex test instruments such as high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and complex computer control equipment.
+ Performing other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Minimum of 3 years of practical experience in a relevant technical field to include at least 1 year of experience with the installation of such equipment and 1 year of experience with the design, preparation, and modification of engineering documents and drawings
+ Demonstrated understanding of the interrelationships of circuits
+ Applicant must be willing travel outside of the continental United States, and occasionally, in austere conditions. Travel may account for up to 25% of the work year.
+ Must have a valid US Passport
+ Ability to work onboard US Navy Ships
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Experience with C-UAS systems and subsystems to include troubleshooting and maintenance
+ Familiarity with any of the following:
+ NINJA
+ CORIAN
+ Light Marine Air Defense Integrated Systems (LMADIS)
+ Marine Air Defense Integrated System (MADIS)
+ ANDURIL
+ SKYTRACKER
+ Tower related certifications (Climb/Rescue).
+ Familiarity with Microsoft Office and web-based collaborative resources.
