RESPONSIBILITIES

* Design and implement networking for hybrid K3s clusters (x86/ARM/accelerators) supporting multi-interface and multi-network scenarios.

* Configure and optimize CNI plugins including Multus, Cilium, and Calico; enable VLAN-backed, SR-IOV, and multi-interface workloads.

* Deploy and manage bare-metal load balancers (MetalLB/BGP).

* Develop Kubernetes controllers/operators to manage IP pools, VLANs, DNS, and other networking resources; ensure CRD and controller compatibility with GitOps workflows.

* Automate provisioning, reconciliation, and lifecycle management of cluster networking across hybrid environments.

* Integrate cluster networking with upstream DNS; manage IP allocation for nodes, pods, and external interfaces; implement IPAM for hybrid and multi-tenant environments.

* Bridge Kubernetes networks with underlay/overlay environments (VLANs, BGP) and ensure safe consumption of external VLANs.

* Collaborate with hardware teams on NIC configuration, firmware support, and network device consistency.

* Implement network security policies, encryption, and multi-CNI isolation; ensure compliance across all network paths.

* Integrate observability tools (Cilium Hubble, Prometheus, custom metrics) and validate networking performance and reliability.

* Work with DevOps, SRE, and Hardware Engineering teams to align networking architecture with platform requirements.

* Document networking architecture, CRDs, operators, and runbooks; provide training and knowledge transfer on advanced networking topics.

QUALIFICATIONS

* Bachelor"s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

* 15+ years of software engineering with strong Kubernetes/K3s networking experience.

* Hands-on expertise with Multus, Cilium/Calico, and bare-metal load balancers (MetalLB/BGP).

* Proficient in Go and Kubernetes controller/operator development (Kubebuilder, controller-runtime, Operator SDK).

* Experience with IPAM, DNS/DHCP integration, VLAN configuration, and bridging external networks into Kubernetes.

* Strong Linux networking background (netlink, iproute2, eBPF).

* Advanced debugging skills for pod, node, and external networking issues.

* Security experience with RBAC, network policies, encryption, and multi-network Kubernetes deployments.

* Experience with C/C++
