Summary You will serve as a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST in the HEADQUARTERS (MSCHQ) ENGINEERING DIRECTORATE of MILITARY SEALIFT COMMAND. You will manage and maintain International Safety Management (ISM) Safety Management System (SMS) documentation and processes. You will analyze processes for ship operation, maintenance, and repair vessels in the United States in accordance with regulatory bodies. You will perform regulatory auditing and tracking, requiring in-depth understanding of non-conformity determination and processing. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience with ship operating principles to be able to conduct SMS audits of MSC ships operating worldwide. Experience defining problems, analyzing alternatives, and recommending solutions to assess lessons learned, adjudicate findings, provide technical advice to field personnel and headquarters staff offices, and serving on interagency committees or task groups. Experience with regulatory body (ABS, USCG. IMO, ISO, etc.) requirements for ship operation, safety and environmental management, maintenance, and repair of vessels in the United States related to the ISM Code.
