    Nurse Joint Navigator – Orthopedic Ambulatory Surgery Center Location: Portland, Maine Schedule: Monday through Friday 8-4:30 Join Our Team and Make a Difference in Patient Care! Are you passionate about guiding patients through their surgical journey and ensuring exceptional outcomes? We’re looking for a Nurse Joint Navigator to be the cornerstone of patient care at our state-of-the-art orthopedic ambulatory surgery center. Why You’ll Love This Role As a Nurse Joint Navigator, you’ll play a vital role in creating a seamless experience for joint surgery patients—from pre-op preparation to post-op recovery. You’ll be the trusted resource patients rely on for education, coordination, and compassionate support. What You’ll Do Pre-Operative Care: Conduct Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) appointments and build strong patient relationships. Complete anesthesia reviews, collect labs and swabs, and secure medical clearances. Educate patients on pre-op instructions, medication adjustments, and recovery expectations. Schedule Joint Classes and ensure patients have all educational materials. Care Coordination: Arrange home health referrals and durable medical equipment (DME). Communicate with home health agencies and provide patients with direct contact information for support. Chart Management: Ensure all labs and clearances are documented prior to surgery. Collaborate with surgeons on abnormal results and maintain accurate records. Post-Operative Follow-Up: Conduct follow-up calls at 24 hours, one week, and four weeks post-surgery. Monitor patient progress using HOOS Jr and KOOS Jr surveys to ensure optimal outcomes. What We’re Looking For Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in orthopedic or surgical care. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to educate and empower patients throughout their care journey. Familiarity with electronic medical records (Epic experience preferred).
