Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a talented Electrical Engineer with expertise in Electrical Engineering, REVIT, and Design. The ideal candidate will be responsible for electrical design, engineering, drafting, and calculations for commercial building construction projects using REVIT. This role requires the ability to design projects from schematic to completion and utilize knowledge of required calculations for services and voltage drop.

Responsibilities

+ Design electrical components for commercial and high-rise building construction projects.

+ Conduct electrical design, engineering, drafting, and calculations using REVIT.

+ Translate red lines and markups from engineering staff into AutoCAD and REVIT.

+ Handle electrical design with a focus on lighting, power distribution, generator systems, and infrastructure for mixed-use and commercial buildings.

+ Utilize knowledge of NEC code and perform required calculations for services, voltage drop, and more.

Essential Skills

+ 2+ years of experience with MEP consulting firms doing electrical design or drafting.

+ Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.

+ Knowledge of NEC code and electrical engineering design principles.

+ Ability to perform schematic design and drafting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with MEP including lighting, power, and infrastructure.

+ Engineering degree is not required, but having one and interest in obtaining a PE license is valued.

Work Environment

Our office is located in northern New Jersey, specializing in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Sprinkler design for commercial and industrial buildings. The office provides a laid-back environment with exposure to large-scale projects, including mid-high-rise work. We offer flexible hours, typically 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with a lunch break. The work culture is supportive, with opportunities for growth and a potential partnership track. Our CAD department supports drafting and production for all disciplines within MEP, using technologies such as REVIT and AutoCAD.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rockaway, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $48.00/hr.
