    Job Title: Distillation Technician - Reaction

    Job Description

    As a Distillation Technician specializing in reactions, you will be responsible for operating and overseeing equipment utilized in the distillation process. This includes distilling target compounds and batches from specified raw materials. You will be tasked with performing necessary calculations, product inspections, and providing samples for quality control testing. Additionally, you will record various data points, check temperatures, and complete batch records in accordance with GMP and SOPs. A part of your role will involve using the computer system to input data into the tracking system while complying with best practices and standard operating procedures.

    Responsibilities

    + Operate and oversee equipment used for distillation processes.

    + Distill target compounds and batches from specified raw materials.

    + Perform calculations as required.

    + Conduct product inspections and provide samples for quality control testing.

    + Record various data points as required.

    + Check temperatures and complete batch records per GMP and SOPs.

    + Input data into the tracking system using a computer.

    + Comply with best practices and standard operating procedures.

    + Continuously work on improving processes.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in chemical engineering and reactions.

    + Proficiency in batch making, fractional and steam distillation.

    + Knowledge of purification, mixing, chemistry, production, and batching.

    + Experience in chemical handling and engineering.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + 4 years or more of tenure at each job in high-level compounding and chemical operating.

    + Possession of a High School degree with solid attention to detail.

    + Ability to learn unique processes that are detail-specific.

    + Capability to work different shifts as required.

    + Comfortable using a computer.

    + Previous experience in distillation and GMP environments is preferred.

    Work Environment

    The work environment is characterized by a family-owned, 'work hard, play hard' culture with straightforward communication. You will work independently, requiring intelligence and the ability to manage various calculations for product specifications and provide necessary documentation. Attention to detail is crucial for inputting information and data into the internal tracking system. The setting is a manufacturing type environment where jeans and t-shirts are common attire. The company organizes barbeque weeks during the summer and bagel/pizza parties, fostering a community-oriented atmosphere.

     

    3rd shift- 10pm-6am

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Belcamp, MD.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
