Experience with inventory management systems and performing inventory adjustments.
Experience with purchasing or procurement, including creating vendor accounts, navigating online platforms, or supplier systems.
Experience entering purchase orders, processing receipts, or coordinating with vendors.
Forklift certified; standing forklift experience.

Keep materials, furniture, and information moving efficiently across campus at Iowa State University.
Step into a hands-on role where staying organized and keeping operations running smoothly matters every day as a Logistics Coordinator III. You’ll support warehouse activity, purchasing, and the flow of materials across residence halls and apartments—making sure the Department of Residence has what it needs to keep student housing running seamlessly.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives on improving processes, organizing systems, and taking ownership of daily workflows. If you take pride in making things work efficiently and finding better ways to get tasks done, this is the role for you.
Schedule: Monday - Friday from 7:30 am - 4:00 pm
What You’ll Do
+ Manage daily orders and communications: Check emails, review new orders, and enter purchase requests or vendor updates each morning.
+ Coordinate with staff: Work with Residence Life, furniture procurement, maintenance staff, and student employees to keep materials and information flowing.
+ Support deliveries and work orders: Deliver items, assist with furniture needs, handle urgent orders, and support larger moves, especially during busy periods like summer turnover and conferences.
+ Track and maintain inventory: Update inventory and work-order systems, pull project information, and help prepare for a new tracking system at the State Avenue facility.
+ Assist students and staff: Help locate materials and supplies, resolve communication gaps, and ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
+ Perform physical and administrative tasks: Lift and move items up to 40–50 lbs., while balancing administrative duties.

Example of Duties
+ Procures, receives, stores, and delivers goods and services.
+ Coordinates inbound and outbound logistical operations including inventory management, warehousing, and transportation.
+ Communicates with faculty and staff on a regular basis regarding product and service availability, orders, requests and deadlines.
+ Researches, sources and acquires goods and materials by request including initiating requisitions and contracting processes.
+ Addresses inventory issues related to the supply chain and suggests models for improvement and product alternatives.
+ Maintains and operates point of sale, inventory management, e-commerce and tracking systems.
+ Reviews and negotiates contracts with vendors to ensure best pricing and product options.
+ Maintains accurate and appropriate inventory levels across all product categories, eliminating stock outs and dead stock.
+ Implements sales strategies.
+ Monitors and assists with budgets.
+ Track outstanding purchase orders and deliveries.
+ Reconciles discrepancies.
+ Provides functional supervision to staff.

+ May act as a lead, assigning tasks and providing guidance to lower level workers
+ May provide supervision to one to two other staff or lead a small work team
+ Provides guidance to students
