Description

We are looking for a Senior Tax Accountant with public accounting experience to join our team on a contract basis in Jacksonville, Florida. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in managing various tax-related responsibilities, including individual and corporate tax returns, sales tax, and tax preparation. This position requires a strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate and timely results.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review individual and corporate tax returns with precision and adherence to applicable regulations.

• Manage sales and use tax compliance, ensuring accurate reporting and timely submission.

• Conduct thorough tax preparation processes, including gathering and analyzing necessary financial information.

• Collaborate with internal teams to address tax-related inquiries and provide expert guidance.

• Stay informed on changes in tax laws and regulations to maintain compliance and optimize processes.

• Assist with audits and provide documentation to support tax filings.

• Research complex tax matters to develop solutions and minimize liabilities.

• Ensure all tax deadlines are met while maintaining high standards of accuracy.

• Monitor and address discrepancies in tax filings or payments.

• Provide recommendations for improving tax-related processes and efficiencies.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in tax accounting (public accounting), with a focus on individual and corporate tax returns.

• Proficiency in managing sales and use tax compliance.

• Strong knowledge of tax preparation processes and regulations.

• Ability to analyze financial data and provide accurate reporting.

• Familiarity with current tax laws and the ability to apply them effectively.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Strong communication skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

• CPA certification or equivalent is preferred.
