    Description

    Growing aerospace manufacturer is seeking a cost accountant. Based in Pacoima, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial integrity and operational efficiency of our organization. You will be tasked with analyzing costs across our manufacturing processes, identifying opportunities for optimization, and implementing strategies to enhance cost-effectiveness while maintaining the highest standards of quality. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will provide valuable insights and recommendations to support decision-making and drive sustainable growth.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Work with the Controller, Cost Accountant(s) and Operation Management to understand job variances and labor absorption.

    • Review Gross Margin Reports on a Weekly Basis

    • Review cost estimates on new products from the Engineering team

    • Quote parts provided by both the Sales Team and General Managers.

    • Conduct detailed analysis of production costs (actual vs standard)

    • Collaborate with procurement and production teams to optimize inventory management and material usage

    • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness

    • Maintain the Cycle Count Process

    • Provide monthly Key Performance Indicators.

    • Balance Sheet reconciliations

    • Daily AR invoicing to customers

    • Assist in month-end close procedures

    + Generate various reports

    + Review job closings

    + Process WIP Capture

    • Additional responsibilities and projects, as assigned

    Requirements

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.

    • Experience in cost accounting or related roles (1-4 years’ experience”, preferably in a manufacturing environment, leveraging ERP systems (Epicor). Understanding of cost accounting principles and methodologies.

    • Proficiency in financial analysis and reporting.

    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

    • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.

    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar software.
