*Summary*
Manages nursing and technical care for patients receiving wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Participates in providing direct patient care. Oversees the maintenance of standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. Facilitates the utilization of wound and hyperbaric clinical practice guidelines at all professional levels. Coordinates clinical operations.
*Responsibilities*
1.Provides wound care services within scope of practice under the direction of a physician to ensure continuity of care.
2.Collaborates with physicians and directs nursing and HBO staff to ensure and maintain a high quality of care and excellent patient outcomes.
3.Responsible for functions such as; recruitment; hiring; coaching; and administering disciplinary policies. Responsible for goal-setting, on-going measurement of goals, completion of Performance Evaluations, administering the recognition program, and all other human resources programs.
4.Responsible for daily operations of Wound Care Center, including, but not limited to: scheduling of staff and coordinating of physician schedules; triaging resources to assure timely, quality care delivery; resolving equipment, information systems, and facility problems; responding to internal and external customer demands; and, collaborating with other hospital departments to coordinate patient care.
5.In collaboration with the Medical Director, facilitates departmental adherence to clinical standards of care.
6.Participates in operational budget process; keeps records on line items of responsibility; monitors and follows-up to resolve inaccuracies. Collaborates in the gathering and assessment of data to rectify and justify operational expenses and revenues.
7.Keeps current regarding advances in wound care, hyperbaric medicine and management by attending seminars and meetings relative to job function.
8.Researches and, as appropriate, introduces new wound care techniques and advanced technologies in wound care. Develops, adapts, and maintains an up-to-date, effective, and fiscally responsible wound care formulary and department supply inventory.
9.Assists with or institutes emergency measures for sudden adverse developments in patients, such as cardiac arrest or other emergencies.
10.Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
11.Performs other duties as assigned.
*Education Skills Experience*
* Bachelor's Level Degree
* Registered Nurse
* 5 years relevant RN experience
* Prior wound care or hyperbaric experience
* 2 years supervisory experience
*Essential:*
* Certified Hyperbaric RN
* Wound Ostomy Certified Nurse
* Bachelor's Level Degree
* Registered Nurse - 5 years relevant RN experience (2 years supervisory experience)
* Prior wound care or hyperbaric experience (preferred)
* Obtain Certified Hyperbaric RN (CHRN) within four (4) years from date of hire.
* Obtain Wound Ostomy Certified Nurse (WOCN) within six (6) years from date of hire
Working Conditions:
Manual: Some manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity
Occupational: Some occupational risk
Physical Effort: Medium to Heavy effort. May exert up to 35 lbs. force
Physical Environment: Some exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
