Position: New American Resource Navigator
Salary: $ $20-23/hour (additional $1/hour for multilingual
Schedule: Monday through Friday during business hours, with occasional evenings and weekends.

POSITION SUMMARY
The New American Resource Navigator provides culturally responsive, strength-based support to New American families through individualized coaching, resource navigation, and connection to community supports. This role conducts intakes and ongoing meetings in homes, community settings, and at Neighborhood House; collaborates with families to set goals, develop parenting skills, strengthen parent-child relationships, and create safety plans when needed; and assists participants whose primary language is not English through translation tools and services.
The New American Resource Navigator also manages the New American Resource Hub, cultivating partnerships with external organizations, coordinating monthly Hub events, and ensuring accessible, inclusive, and sustainable programming.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct Service:
• Provide services to New American Families that are culturally responsive and aligned with NH’s standards for inclusion, accessibility, and radical hospitality, including:
• Conduct intake and ongoing meetings with participants at Neighborhood House, in their homes, and in community settings.
• Complete the New American Participant Plan after evaluating the needs and discussing goals.
• Collaborate with families to develop strategies for accessing essential resources and social support, both from within Neighborhood House and external partners.
• Assist participants in developing a safety plan (as needed) and provide culturally responsive services that align with the participant’s safety plan.
• Work with families from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences to strengthen parent-child relationships and develop parenting skills Assist participants whose first language is not English through the use of translation services and tools.
• Respond to inquiries about basic needs by phone, email, in-person, or through the referral database.
• Manage Neighborhood House’s New American Resource Hub program.
• Establish and cultivate relationships with external organizations that offer supports to New Americans and other Neighborhood House Participants
• Plan and lead monthly New American Resource Hub events:
• Coordinate with community partners to be ensure a broad range of resources are available at the events
• Coordinate with other Neighborhood House staff to ensure food, basic needs, and staff are available.
• Coordinate event logistics, collaborating with operations staff and volunteer engagement staff.
• Support continuous improvement of New American Resource Hub processes to ensure accessibility, inclusion, cultural responsiveness, and sustainability.
• Other duties as identified for the success of New American families and Neighborhood House.
Data and Evaluation:
• Collect and enter all required data using Client Track software.
• Implement program evaluation tools and track progress using relevant database(s).
• Maintain confidentiality of program participants in accordance with data privacy laws, standards, and policy.
• Prepare or assist with preparing program reports.

• Actively support and champion the mission and programs of Neighborhood House.
• Actively support initiatives regarding Neighborhood House’s commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, access, racial justice, and anti-racism. Conduct all activities with a high degree of cultural competency.
• Maintain effective, collaborative working relationships with colleagues, participants, donors, board members, volunteers, and community partners.
• Consistently uphold Neighborhood House policies, procedures, and confidentiality protocols.
• When representing Neighborhood House to internal and external audiences, articulate the organization’s desired image and position.
• Contribute to building a cohesive, respectful, responsive, and productive staff environment that demonstrates our values and mission.
• Actively participate in required meetings, trainings, and other events as requested.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Required Experience and Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, or related field, or four years of related work experience in family case management and/or program management.
• Working knowledge and experience working with New American individuals and families, including working knowledge of immigrant/refugee needs and familiarity with community resources
• Working knowledge of racial equity and social justice issues relevant to the communities we serve; Working knowledge of immigrant/refugee trends and needs, self-sufficiency issues, and community resources
• Knowledge of community development, community organizing, and other social services as resources
• Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with people of diverse ethnic, economic, racial, and cultural backgrounds
• Proficient in interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills in English
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing program/participant/funder needs while maintaining programs.
• Strong time management and organizational skills with demonstrated ability to manage tasks, projects, and priorities;
• Committed to working both independently and as part of a team
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
• Must have a valid driver’s license, access to reliable transportation, and be able to lift.
Desired Qualifications
• Ability to speak one or more languages spoken by our participant families, especially Spanish, Karen, Hmong, and Somali.
WORK LOCATION
This in-person role is based in St. Paul, MN.
