GENERAL PURPOSE:
This position assists with the movement of work in process (WIP) and finished product through press and finishing. Assists other operators by loading WIP into manufacturing machines, unloading, and packing finished product, making boxes, and loading skids.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
\u2022 Catch product after the printing, affixing, or shrink wrap processes
\u2022 Verify sequence numbers are correct
\u2022 Assemble empty boxes as needed
\u2022 Verify box count and package product per job ticket
\u2022 Assist Operators in locating product
\u2022 Understand and follow Quality Control requirements for each job
\u2022 Ensure product data integrity
\u2022 Maintains clean and orderly workspace
\u2022 Follows product flow instructions
\u2022 Performs other job duties as assigned Performs other job duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
\u2022 Must be able to learn quickly and adapt to change
\u2022 Able to work well in a team environment
\u2022 Demonstrate knowledge of or ability to learn safety rules and procedures, and operating policies and procedures
\u2022 Ability to communicate effectively with others.
\u2022 Must be able to maintain good attendance
\u2022 Must be willing to work overtime as needed; significant overtime may be required during busy periods
\u2022 Must be able to perform all essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.
SAFE WORK REQUIREMENTS:
\u2022 PPE: Safety Glasses, Ear Plugs or Earmuffs, Safety Shoes, Gloves when required, Hard Hats, and any other PPE Required based on the job or task.
\u2022 Compliance with Smurfit Westrock\u2019s employment policies, handbook, and workplace safety policies, rules, and procedures.
\u2022 Submission of Safety Concerns and Safety Work Order / Incident Reporting and Learning / Basic understanding of the Safety Excellence System
\u2022 Follow the site management (General Manager, Plant Manager, Department Manager, Shift Supervisor) assignments for completing tasks and managing programs as part of the Safety Excellence System.
\u2022 Must follow Training Matix assigned in the Learning and Development System. Training could be assigned Annually, Quarterly or at the time of a new process / procedure.
\u2022 Must have a clear understanding of the STOP Work Process - Employees have the right to STOP the work at any time to gain a better understanding of the process or to ensure safety standards are met.
