    Job Brief

     

    The Incident Management Investigator Specialist I (IMIS-I) assists with administrative tasks associated with investigations into situations which may violate a person’s rights and/or protections in accordance with OPWDD and Justice Center regulations.

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Incident Management Investigator Specialist I (IMIS-I) assists the Incident Management Investigator Specialist II (IMIS-II) and Incident Management Investigator with administrative tasks associated with investigations into situations which may violate a person’s rights and/or protections in accordance with OPWDD and Justice Center regulations.

    POSITION DUTIES:

    1. Works closely with the Incident Management Investigator Specialist II and Investigator.

    2. Participates in weekly group and individual supervision as scheduled.

    3. Monitors and maintains Investigation Workflow with new cases, delays, completion dates, and pending staff and Persons Supported (PRS) interviews.

    4. Creates new files for incidents.

    5. Monitors the dedicated Investigations email and reviews, labels, and files documents received.

    6. Reviews files to ensure all requested documents have been received.

    7. Sends follow-up requests until file completion.

    8. Initiates the OPWDD 149 Investigative Reports by entering identifying information, listing evidence, and summarizing documentary evidence.

    9. Compares Investigations Department trending data with the OPWDD Incident Report Management Application (IRMA) and the agency’s Incident Management (IM) Department data for accuracy and addresses any discrepancies.

    10. Other duties as assigned

    REQUIREMENTS:

    1. Associate’s degree or 60 college credits in human service field preferred.

    2. Typing and computer proficiency, specifically experience working with Microsoft Office Suite, One Drive, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams.

    3. Capable of reviewing and processing documentation.

    4. Demonstrates strong multitasking abilities, effectively prioritizes tasks, consistently meets deadlines, and readily adapts to evolving circumstances.

    5. The position requires availability from 9am to 5pm, flexibility, and prompt response to all communications.

    6. Performs all job responsibilities in full compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Adheres to the agency’s corporate compliance program, including the code of business conduct, the NYS and federal false claims acts, whistleblower protections and mandatory reporting. Completes corporate compliance training at least annually. Fully cooperates in all corporate compliance investigations and reviews.
