Job Brief
The Incident Management Investigator Specialist II (IMIS-II) works closely with the Incident Management Investigator Specialist I (IMIS-I) and Incident Management Investigator to complete investigations into situations which may violate a person’s rights.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Incident Management Investigator Specialist II (IMIS-II) works closely with the Incident Management Investigator Specialist I (IMIS-I) and Incident Management Investigator to complete investigations into situations which may violate a person’s rights and/or protections in accordance with OPWDD and Justice Center regulations.
POSITION DUTIES:
1. Works closely with the Incident Management Investigator Specialist I and Incident Management Investigator.
2. Participates in weekly group and individual supervision as scheduled.
3. Updates IMIS-I with investigation statuses, specifically delays, completion dates, and obstacles to completion.
4. Reviews, analyses, and evaluates investigative files to determine whether additional documents or interviews are required beyond the initial request.
5. Completes Justification for Delays as directed by Incident Management Investigator.
6. Reviews files to ensure the investigative record is complete and thorough with all required documents and interviews once the IMIS-I indicates all requests have been fulfilled.
7. Writes OPWDD 149 Final Report drafts as assigned.
8. Assists Incident Management Investigator with interviews as needed.
9. Requests additional documents and/or interviews following Incident Review Committee (IRC) Sub-Committee, OPWDD, or Justice Center (JC) reviews.
10. Alerts Incident Management Investigator and/or Sr. Director of any new incident reports needed following file reviews.
11. Escalate any obstacles to completing investigations to the Incident Management Investigator and/or Sr. Director of Investigations.
12. Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Preferred minimum BA/BS in related Human Services Field or licensure in medically related field.
2. Typing and computer proficiency, specifically experience working with Microsoft Office Suite, One Drive, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams.
3. Able to review, process, and analyze evidence.
4. Able to multitask, prioritize, meet deadlines, and adapt to changes at any given time.
5. Must be able to work 9am to 5pm, flexible, and respond to all communications timely.
6. Performs all job responsibilities in full compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Adheres to the agency’s corporate compliance program, including the code of business conduct, the NYS and federal false claims acts, whistleblower protections and mandatory reporting. Completes corporate compliance training at least annually. Fully cooperates in all corporate compliance investigations and reviews.
