Position: 00005956 - Senior Laboratory Technician
Grade: 2ND
Hiring Range: $30.27/hr to $37.86/hr. Pay rate commensurate with relevant experience.
The Senior Laboratory Technician is responsible for preparing chemicals and equipment for introductory level lab courses in the Chemistry department. This position requires a well-organized person with laboratory experience, whose exceptional time management skills will enable them to meet the demanding deadlines. The job requires the accurate preparation of solutions and mixtures, knowledge of safe practices for handling hazardous materials, supervision of student employees (both undergraduate and graduate) and excellent recordkeeping skills. Some flexibility in the daily work schedule is necessary.
Requirements
The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry, although those with a degree in Biology will be considered depending on laboratory experience.
