Job Summary:

Responsible for operating a variety of heavy equipment including but not limited to front-end loaders, skid-steers, trackhoes, backhoes, excavators, dozers, motor graders and trenchers.

Job Functions:

+ Actively supports the Company’s commitment to safety and its “Core Values.”

+ Performs loading and unloading of equipment and supplies.

+ Precision positioning of equipment, lifting heavy machinery and components, as well as beams and lumber.

+ Work in a closed or open cab to use pilot operated joystick controls, pedals, levers and buttons to lift, move, and position loads using hoisting attachments, such as hooks, slings, electromagnets, and buckets.

+ Observe load hookup and determine safety of load and inspect and report hoisting mechanism.

+ Communicate with team members both verbally and by signal instruction.

+ Work around existing underground utilities and tight areas.

+ Shoring, soil classes and dewatering.

+ Remove loosened material and put in piles or transport trucks.

+ Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards.

+ Perform all other job-related duties as requested by supervision.

QUALIFICATIONS:

+ Minimum of three (3) years experience operating heavy equipment in a industrial construction environment.

+ Able to communicate with team members both verbally and by signal instruction

+ Operate equipment to dig trenches and holes of specified length, depth, and width and grade.

+ Must be able to pass equipment test and visual observation of operating equipment.

+ Complete the Matrix Service Safety training, and/or Client/Site specific training.

+ Must Pass a background check.

+ Must obtain and maintain an active status within the applicable drug testing program.

PHYSICAL/SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

+ Ability to climb ladders, scaffolds, stairs, and work from elevated or uneven surfaces.

+ Work involves standing and walking for extended periods of time.

+ Ability to work in Confined Spaces.

+ Must be capable of working outside in the elements including but not limited to the heat, cold, rain, snow and wind; and must be able to work for long period of times up to 12 hours a day.

+ Work may include frequent bending, kneeling, crouching and stooping and occasional climbing onto equipment and/or trailers.

+ May be required to lift, carry and move up to 50 lbs.

+ Requires visual ability sufficient to perform job duties. Work normally requires eye-hand coordination.

+ Travel and overtime may be required.
