Serenity Hospice is hiring a full-time Activities Coordinator to join our growing activities program in Ocean and Monmouth County. This is a hands-on, meaningful role focused on bringing joy, stimulation, and connection to the seniors we serve.

You will receive full training in our engagement approach, learning how to provide structured, sensory-based activities that support comfort, connection, and quality of life for hospice residents.

Role Overview

The Activities Coordinator will receive training in resident engagement and will lead:

+ One-on-one sessions with residents

+ Small-group activities

+ Occasional larger monthly themed activities (seasonal or interactive events)

+ Documentation of daily activity encounters

The goal of this role is to bring joy and meaningful connection through simple, hands-on engagement activities.

Responsibilities

+ Provide meaningful interactions and engagement sessions throughout the day

+ Work independently and manage your schedule

+ Lead one-on-one and small-group activities at assigned facilities

+ Travel between facilities within Ocean and Monmouth counties

+ Assist residents with sensory, recreational, and restorative-style activities

+ Help organize and run occasional themed monthly events

+ Write clear and supportive activity notes (training provided)

+ Maintain a positive, encouraging, and welcoming atmosphere

+ Communicate professionally with facility staff and the Serenity team

+ Support resident emotional well-being through presence and engagement

Qualifications

Required:

+ Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP)

+ If you do not have this certification, we will help you earn it

+ Compassionate and patient personality

+ Reliable, self-motivated, and organized

+ Strong verbal communication skills

+ Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Preferred:

+ Experience in activities, caregiving, senior living, teaching, or recreation

+ Creativity and willingness to learn new engagement styles

+ Comfortable with light physical activity (balloon toss, sensory activities, etc.)

Monday - Friday Work Schedule (8:30 AM to 4:30 PM)

No Nights or Weekends required.
