You will become an integral member of a nationally recognized Real Estate Practice Group that closes headline-making transactions across every major asset class. Reporting directly to the Practice Group Leader—and collaborating daily with a dynamic team of attorneys—you will support critical aspects of sophisticated deals from initial due diligence through the final closing book. Expected responsibilities will include:

+ Conducting and coordinating comprehensive due diligence—reviewing title commitments, surveys, zoning reports and underlying documents to spot issues before they become obstacles

+ Drafting, revising and assembling real estate conveyance and financing documents

+ Driving the closing process for acquisitions, dispositions and debt and equity financings—managing signature packages, tracking deliverables against checklists, satisfying recording requirements and preparing meticulously indexed closing books

+ Preparing, filing, and tracking UCC financing statements; ordering and analyzing lien, litigation and similar searches; and ensuring clean title on every matter

+ Tackling special projects that require legal research, insightful reporting and creative problem-solving

+ Serving as a trusted liaison between Dentons lawyers, clients, title companies, surveyors, opposing counsel and governmental agencies to keep every deal on course and on schedule

Pursuant to Illinois law, the salary range for this position is $95,000 to $140,000, based on experience. Dentons offers a competitive salary and benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401k, profit sharing, short-term/long-term disability, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, paid holidays and discretionary bonuses.

    Position qualifications

+ Bachelor’s degree (or associate’s degree plus a paralegal certificate)

+ Five to seven years of commercial real estate experience in a law-firm, in-house legal department or title company

+ Mastery of title and survey review

+ Exposure to large, complex transactions strongly preferred

+ Superior organizational skills and impeccable attention to detail

+ Exceptional written and oral communication skills

    + Strong client service mindset

    + Discretion with sensitive information

+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office, PDF creation tools, document management systems and timekeeping software

+ Curiosity, initiative and a passion for real estate
