Responsibilities
The Firm is currently recruiting for a full-time Real Estate Paralegal to be based in our Chicago, New York, Phoenix or Washington, DC office. This position will support the Hospitality & Leisure practice group and will report to the Practice Group Leader, with daily work performed primarily under the direction of assigned practice group lawyers. Expected responsibilities will include:
+ Perform and coordinate due diligence, including review of title commitments, surveys, zoning reports and underlying documents
+ Assist in preparation and review of real estate conveyance and closing documents
+ Coordinate closing of successful real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions and financings, debt and equity transactions; create and manage signature page packages and delivery of all documents and deliverables; confirm contents of appropriate closing checklists; handle recording requirements at closing; and create and assemble closing books with detailed indices
+ Prepare, review and file UCC financing statements
+ Order and evaluate UCC, lien, litigation and similar searches
+ Handle entity formation and maintenance along with related filings
+ Review and assemble officer's certificates, resolutions, organizational documents and other closing deliverables (familiarity with drafting such deliverables based on precedent and under attorney supervision preferred)
+ Work on special assignments that may require conducting routine fact or legal research, preparing reports and handling associated filings
+ Interface with firm clients and other outside entities regarding assigned matters
+ Other duties as assigned
Pursuant with state laws, the salary range for this position is $100,000 - $130,000, based on experience. Dentons offers a competitive salary and benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401k, profit sharing, short-term/long-term disability, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, paid holidays and discretionary bonuses.
Position qualifications
+ Bachelor's or Associate's Degree required or Paralegal Certificate and equivalent experience
+ Minimum of 5 years of real estate experience required, preferably in a law firm setting, an in-house legal department or a title company
+ Large and sophisticated transaction experience is preferred. Title and survey proficiency is required
+ Hospitality experience is a plus, but not required
+ Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and an ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects with minimal supervision are essential
+ Must have superior client service and communication skills
+ Must have the ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure
+ Must have the ability to interact and work productively with all levels of lawyers, paraprofessionals and business services team members
+ Must demonstrate strong verbal, written, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills
+ Ability to maintain discretion and privacy with confidential matters and documents
+ Ability to recognize and comprehend facts and legal concepts
+ Strong computer technical skills and demonstrated ability to learn new technologies
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, PDF creation tool(s), document management software and Elite or other timekeeping software is required
+ Ability to work overtime as needed
