SUMMARY
Responsible for direction and control of the work standards in the Medical Sonics area. Responsible for personnel in the Medical Sonics area and all Medical Sonics procedures.
Some Specific Duties May Include..
• Monitors work performance in designated areas
• Manages patient flow
• Interacts with radiologists and other referring physicians
• Monitors supply inventory and orders supplies when needed
• Requests accessories and other large items through department manager/director
• Evaluates cost containment measures
• Schedules all personnel in responsible areas
• Troubleshoots equipment for responsible area
• Maintains organization and cleanliness of all assigned areas
• Demonstrates new equipment
• Maintains and updates procedure manual
• Performs ultrasound procedures on patients of every age as necessary
• Participates in the interview process as required
• Assists with budget preparation as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
+ Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology or Medical Sonography Program
+ Current ARRT certification and/or Medical Sonography with registry eligibility. RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) required
+ Three to five years’ experience in Medical Sonography. Ability to operate ultrasound equipment and produce quality images. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to communicate with patients, visitors, and employees within the organization.
