    Welder/Fabricator – FCAW (2nd Shift)

    **Location:** In-person | Avon, IL

    **Schedule:** Full-time | 2nd Shift: 4:00 PM – 2:30 AM (Monday–Friday)

    **Pay:** $20 - $23 (Plus shift differential on 2nd shift)

    Position Overview

    We are seeking an experienced Welder/Fabricator skilled in FCAW processes to join the 2nd shift team. This position involves welding, fabrication, material inspection, crane operation, rigging work, and additional shop responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates demonstrate strong welding proficiency, attention to detail, and a consistent commitment to safety.

    Primary Duties & Responsibilities

    + Work under the Shop Supervisor and collaborate with team members

    + Follow all safety protocols and maintain strong safety habits

    + Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical specifications

    + Use basic math to calculate dimensions and weights

    + Inspect materials before and after welding

    + Perform final inspection on completed welds

    + Operate Oxy/Acetylene torch equipment

    + Weld using GMAW, FCAW, and SMAW in multiple positions

    + Grind and gouge metal for extended periods

    + Operate overhead bridge cranes to move materials

    + Apply rigging techniques (key plates, bull pins, keys, shims, lifting lugs, nuts, U-bars, etc.)

    + Ensure weldments comply with AWS D1.1 and AWWA D100 standards

    Required Qualifications

    + High school diploma or equivalent

    + Minimum 2 years of welding experience

    + Ability to weld using FCAW and GMAW processes

    + Capable of passing horizontal and vertical weld tests per ASME Section IX

    + Ability to produce X-ray quality welds

    + Strong working knowledge of welding practices and fabrication processes

    + Reliable transportation

    + Willingness to work 40+ hours per week

    + Proven safe and positive work habits

    Preferred Qualifications

    + 1 year of stainless steel or aluminum welding experience
