    Job Title: Planner

    Job Description

    We are seeking a dedicated Planner to join our team. The successful candidate will assist the planning staff in ensuring the efficient movement of products through internal production and external vendors. This role involves coordinating shipments, monitoring order progress, and tracking the advancement of production and shipping for customer orders.

    Responsibilities

    + Assist in the preparation of documentation and monitor material shortages.

    + Manage floor inventory and provide order status updates.

    + Enter data and facilitate the movement of work orders.

    + Update work order status in QAD or other relevant tracking systems.

    + Monitor and resolve material shortages for production kits.

    + Prepare kits for shipment to suppliers for further processing.

    + Collaborate with Receiving Inspection to address urgent internal shortages.

    + Oversee floor stock by verifying availability and maintaining accurate inventory records.

    + Dispose of expired items and work with purchasing to resolve stock shortages.

    + Generate shipping documents and expedite products moving to outside processing, customers, or suppliers.

    + Perform audits on kits before sending them to contract manufacturers.

    + Manage the return of kit materials to inventory from completed work orders.

    + Review component date codes in the stockroom before screening.

    + Carry out other tasks as assigned.

    Essential Skills

    + Familiarity with MRP (Material Requirements Planning) or ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems.

    + Previous planning experience.

    + Understanding of the aerospace industry.

    + At least 2 years of experience in a planning or production support role.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + High school diploma required.

    + Some college coursework preferred.

    + Strong sense of urgency, organizational skills, and attention to detail.

    + Understanding of manufacturing or production processes.

    + Familiarity with inventory management and cycle counting.

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

    Work Environment

    The work environment involves using tracking systems such as QAD to maintain smooth operations and supports on-time delivery goals. The planner will work closely with various departments to ensure compliance with industry-specific requirements. The role requires a strong sense of organization and attention to detail, along with the ability to resolve material shortages and maintain accurate inventory records.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract position based out of Chatsworth, CA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
