Job Title: Assistant Project ManagerJob Description
In this role, you will report to the Project Director and Director of Operations with matrixed supervision by the Project Manager for the given assignment. You will assist the Project Manager in supervising the activities of the Project Engineers and Superintendents, and support the planning, management direction, project completion, client satisfaction, and financial outcome of assigned construction projects.
Responsibilities
+ Assist Project Manager in coordinating all contractual requirements, design drawings, and project specifications.
+ Support project coordination, procurement of sub-contracts, and purchase orders.
+ Manage construction billings and cash flow projections.
+ Conduct job cost analysis and project schedule analysis and updates.
+ Generate meeting minutes and documentation.
+ Create project monthly report generation and change management reports.
+ Verify application for payment and manage contract administration.
+ Oversee punch-list management, warranty review, and as-built document preparation.
+ Assist with activities of Project Engineers, Construction Managers, and Site Superintendents on assigned projects.
+ Coordinate resources to achieve project goals and manage client interaction on assigned projects.
+ Promote positive client relationships and generate project scopes of work communicated to the project team.
+ Assist Procurement Manager with preparation of bid package documentation, pre-bids/walkthroughs, bid review, and project schedules.
+ Monitor performance against target schedule and implement corrective actions.
+ Report project costs, including values committed, forecast to commit, allowances for growth, and actually expended.
+ Ensure field events, conditions, exceptions, and issues are fully reflected in cost reports.
+ Manage project costs and exposures with Project Services.
+ Assist with oversight of site safety and coordinate with relevant personnel to establish and monitor a site safety program.
+ Preferred experience in process piping.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related discipline, or an equivalent technical degree.
+ 4-6 years of experience in Engineering, Project Delivery, or a related discipline.
+ Proficiency in project management, construction management, and project coordination.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in process piping is preferred.
Work Environment
This position involves 5% travel or as required by the assigned project and may be assigned to the client site for an extended period. Overnight travel or staying in the city of the client's location is possible, depending on the assignment. The role requires visits to construction sites, necessitating site safety training and adherence to safety rules. Reliable transportation is needed, along with the ability to travel and commute on a daily or routine basis. The work environment includes indoor and outdoor settings with potential exposure to varying weather conditions. Physical demands include standing, sitting, walking for prolonged periods, and the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl as required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Emeryville, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
