Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacist In Charge (PIC) to oversee pharmacy operations within a Long-Term Care Pharmacy. This leadership role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, directing daily workflow, and providing clinical oversight to guarantee safe and effective medication delivery.
Responsibilities
+ Ensure adherence to CMS, DEA, FDA, and state Board of Pharmacy regulations.
+ Maintain pharmacy licensure, credentialing, and readiness for audits and inspections.
+ Implement and monitor quality assurance programs for pharmacy services.
+ Supervise pharmacists, technicians, and delivery staff to ensure accurate and timely medication dispensing.
+ Oversee medication packaging, labeling, and data entry processes.
+ Manage inventory, including DEA-compliant handling of controlled substances.
+ Evaluate prescriptions for dosage accuracy, interactions, and appropriateness.
+ Support medication regimen reviews and optimize therapy for residents.
+ Partner with nursing home administrators, Directors of Nursing, and medical directors to align clinical and operational goals.
+ Address billing, documentation, and workflow concerns with business office teams.
+ Conduct performance evaluations, in-service training, and ongoing education for pharmacy staff.
+ Coordinate schedules and ensure adequate staffing levels.

+ Long-term care experience
+ Active pharmacist license in good standing with the state Board of Pharmacy
+ Strong knowledge of CMS, DEA, and state regulations governing LTC pharmacy operations
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s or Doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD)
+ 2+ years of experience in long-term care or institutional pharmacy settings preferred
+ Experience with IV & Compounding
Work Environment
This position operates within a non-customer facing pharmacy role, typically working Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM. The role requires assistance with coordinating coverage during call-outs or time off, with a few weeks notice generally provided for schedule accommodations. Occasionally, you will need to assist with call-outs if coverage cannot be found.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $65.00/hr.
