Job Title: Quality Assurance Manager
Job Description
As a Quality Assurance Manager, you will oversee the Quality department at both production facilities located in McHenry and Lake Bluff. You will report directly to the VP of Operations and operate independently while managing the Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) program. This dynamic role involves managing two QA technicians, reviewing products and processes, overseeing physical testing, managing all phases of the Quality Management System (QMS), handling customer complaints, and reporting on key performance indicators. You will also be responsible for purchasing raw materials, conducting site audits, and leading safety committee meetings.
Responsibilities
+ Manage the Quality department across two production facilities.
+ Oversee and develop the Quality Management System, including documentation, audits, and management reviews.
+ Handle customer complaints and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs).
+ Report on key performance indicators related to complaints and product conformance.
+ Purchase raw materials and conduct site audits.
+ Lead safety committee meetings.
+ Manage two QA technicians.
+ Review products and processes and oversee physical testing.
Essential Skills
+ Proven experience in quality assurance and audit management.
+ Proficiency in QMS and document control.
+ Bachelor's degree in chemistry, engineering, or a related field.
+ 3-10 years of experience in a quality environment and managing ISO-certified quality systems.
+ Ability to apply statistical analysis in manufacturing.
+ Automotive/technical fields or related industries such as coatings, polymers, or industrial manufacturing.
+ Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and OSHA safety regulations.
+ Experience in quality reporting.

+ Experience working with product development, sales, engineering, and leadership teams.
+ Confident communication skills, especially with introverted, tech-savvy team members.
+ Willingness to challenge others to obtain necessary information.
Work Environment
The role is lab-based, focusing on physical testing and supporting both McHenry and Lake Bluff sites. The position typically operates during the first shift, but flexibility is required to meet expectations. Minor travel may be needed for supplier or sales visits, although this is rare. The work environment is collaborative, offering cross-functional exposure and opportunities for growth. It is a place where individual contributions are recognized and valued.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mchenry, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $43.27 - $55.29/hr.
