Job Title: Microbiology Specialist
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Microbiology Specialist to fill a newly identified gap within our team. This role will be pivotal in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our laboratory operations, particularly in the domain of microbiological testing.
Responsibilities
+ Adhere to lab safety guidelines at all times.
+ Create new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and edit existing ones.
+ Collaborate closely with the production team to test all incoming raw materials.
+ Perform standard microbiological testing including the person, yeast, mold, identity testing, and FTIR.
+ Maintain excellent documentation of all laboratory activities.
+ Communicate effectively with team members and other departments.
Skills To Have
+ Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
+ Proficiency in FTIR (Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy).
+ Ability to create and write SOPs.
+ Experience in microbiology testing, including the person, yeast, mold, and identity testing.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ A degree in Biology or a related field is preferred but not required.
Work Environment
This is a first-shift position with a start time between 7:00 and 7:30 AM. The successful candidate will benefit from direct training with an experienced lab manager and will work closely with various departments due to our smaller team structure. The company offers a good work-life balance and is in a phase of growth with plans to expand the microbiology department in the future.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mundelein, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.
