Job Title: Information Systems Engineer

Job Description

The Information Systems Engineer will lead the implementation of Battery Pack Assembly information systems in collaboration with site and global teams. The role involves working with network infrastructure, hardware interfacing, data collection, and server communication scripting. Additionally, the engineer will modify information system specifications, lead interactions with various working groups, and integrate information systems into production lines and processes.

Responsibilities

+ Lead the implementation of Battery Pack Assembly information systems with site and global teams.

+ Modify information system specifications for vendor design, fabrication, and installation.

+ Coordinate interactions between Battery Pack Assembly, IS / One-Tech, MDT, and NAMC working groups.

+ Integrate information systems into each production line and process for line control, parts selection, traceability, and production Andon.

+ Create Information System Technology Notices for Battery Pack PE in North America.

+ Plan, monitor, and track project status for design, fabrication, installation, and confirmation.

+ Investigate and resolve interlock issues between production lines and information systems during setup and production trials.

+ Instruct equipment engineers on equipment integration requirements for North America.

+ Engage in domestic and international travel to NAMCs and suppliers, including travel to Japan, Canada, and Mexico.

+ Frequently work overtime, including weekends and holidays.

Essential Skills

+ Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering, or an Associate’s Degree in a technical field with equivalent work experience (5 years).

+ 10 years of experience with Information Systems – Data Collection.

+ 10 years of experience with Andon / Line Control – Production Line control.

+ 10 years of experience with Production Equipment procurement, installation, and/or confirmation.

+ 10 years of experience with PLC Programming.

+ Proficient with MS Office – Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and TEAMs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with Allen Bradley PLC programming.

+ Experience with Assembly, Body, or Powertrain Information Systems.

+ Experience with Oracle / SQL Server database operation.

+ Experience with Field Network usage, such as Ethernet IP, FLnet, TCP/IP.

+ Experience with Wireless Network usage and Equipment Integration.

+ Experience with serial protocol usage.

+ Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, C#, Java, HTML.

Work Environment

The role involves a dynamic work environment with opportunities for domestic and international travel. Flexible scheduling is available to support work/life balance, although travel and overtime, including weekends and holidays, are expected. The position offers a stable, long-term contract with opportunities for learning and growth within a supportive team. Benefits include 10 PTO days and 9 paid holidays per year, with additional compensation for hours worked over 40. The company values flexibility, offering a rotation of weeks to balance travel commitments.

This is a Contract position based out of Georgetown, KY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $68.00/hr.
