Job Title: Construction SuperintendentJob Description
Join a dynamic team as a Construction Superintendent, where you will play a pivotal role in the traveling department. Your first assignment will be the construction of student housing and a dining hall. You will represent the team on the project site daily, setting expectations and maintaining commitments to ensure smooth operations.
Responsibilities
+ Review conceptual, schematic, and design development documents for constructability and site logistics.
+ Establish project site expectations for safety, quality, and general conduct.
+ Create a project-specific safety program and provide safety orientations.
+ Plan and coordinate site logistics, including traffic patterns and equipment locations.
+ Partner with the Project Manager and trade contractors to develop and execute the work plan.
+ Oversee technical interpretation of construction documents and drawings.
+ Arrange pre-installation coordination meetings and ensure timely permitting and inspections.
+ Maintain a rolling punch list to define final quality expectations.
+ Authorize trade contractor timesheets and purchase requisitions as needed.
+ Complete thorough daily reports of progress, including weather and safety inspections.
+ Continuously assess the project's status against goals and revise strategies as required.
+ Resolve conflicts by focusing on mutually acceptable solutions.
+ Compile fair reports of the project team's experience with trade contractors.
+ Complete assigned training for this role.
Essential Skills
+ Five years of commercial construction experience in a leadership role.
+ OSHA 30 certification.
+ Proficiency in Procore software.
+ Advanced understanding of construction scheduling and cost control.
+ Ability to manage time and prioritize responsibilities effectively.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Interest and familiarity with site requirements and construction methods.
+ Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
+ Understanding of job cost accounting practices.
+ Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Building Information Modeling (BIM).
+ Ability to build strong relationships with owners, architects, and contractors.
Work Environment
The role is open to local or traveling candidates. Each Superintendent will oversee $1 million worth of work monthly, managing a team of 35 contractors. The project total value is $500 million. Work hours are typically day shifts from 7 AM to 4 PM, with occasional Saturdays.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ann Arbor, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $125000.00/hr.
