Responsibilities
The Critical Care Independent Multidisciplinary Practice (IMP) is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (NP/PA) for a position in the Multispecialty Intensive Care Unit, caring for a diverse patient population including thoracic, vascular, orthopedic, plastics, urology, ENT, IR procedures and occasionally CV surgery and medical patients. Selected candidates hired into this role will have the opportunity to partner with anesthesia critical care-trained intensivists and other multidisciplinary team members. An NP/PA in this area will perform admission history and physicals, daily assessments and notes, ordering and interpreting of tests and diagnostic/therapeutic procedures, management of medication regimens, and select bedside procedures based on need and the experience of the provider. Candidates should have a strong desire to care for critically ill patients and ICU experience/exposure, although extensive training and mentoring will be included as part of orientation to this role. Qualifications
Masters prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and nurse practitioner program. Current Minnesota RN license, Minnesota APRN license, and NP certification, or eligible to be certified as an ANP, ACNP, or FNP; or
Graduate of an accredited physician assistant program with current PA certification by the NCCPA and registration as a PA by the Minnesota State Board of Medical Practice.
The NP/PA must be eligible for DEA registration. ACLS/BLS required.
Previous experience is preferred. Strong written and oral communication skills are required and must have demonstrated skill in working collaboratively with all members of the healthcare team.
