The Role:
Here at Survitec, we are currently recruiting for a Senior Deskside Engineer to join our team based in Houston, Texas.
Survitec Group Houston is seeking a detail-oriented candidate with strong communication skills. Our Information Technology team is responsible for defining, providing, maintaining, optimizing, and expanding the business solutions that support global operations, communications, data collection and management, decision-making, and customer relationship management. The department also ensures the protection of our business, customer, and personal data.
We are re-structuring our IT Service Management team across the globe and are recruiting for an experienced Deskside Support Engineer to support our global infrastructure. Aligned to group technology and reporting to the Head of End user Services, you will be a key member of a team responsible for supporting regional infrastructure and stakeholders, whilst having input to our IT roadmap. What You Can Expect from the Role
Key Responsibilities:
• Support the Survitec global infrastructure - acting as a technical escalation point and collaboration source to our partners and vendors
• Stakeholder management for all Survitec sites within the region
• Line management responsibilities for the regional support team (not required in Americas)
• Assisting with IT projects, such as system upgrades, migrations, backups, etc.
• Respond to IT support requests from staff and customers via phone, email, or chat
• Document IT procedures, policies, and best practices
• Monitor and maintain IT inventory, security, and performance
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, network, and system issues
• Install, configure, and update IT equipment and software in region
• Provide training and guidance to users on how to use IT tools and applications
• Collaborate with other IT staff and external vendors as needed
• Remain current regarding IT trends and developments
Skills
• Strong working knowledge across the MS Stack including the Windows OS Family, Active Directory (hybrid), Exchange, Office and endpoint management (Intune & SCCM).
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, network, and system issues.
• Project or line management experience
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
• ITIL certification or experience
• Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills
• Experience of Service management tools eg ServiceNOW, SysAID etc
• Willingness to learn new skills and technologies
• At least three years of experience in IT support or similar role
• Knowledge of MS Windows operating system, Microsoft Office
• Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose IT issues and provide solutions
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and quality
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Desirable:
• Understanding in key infrastructure processes including capacity management, patch management, change management and performance reporting
• Network management including LAN & WAN technologies
• Outsourced Supplier management
• Manufacturing industry experience desirable
