Job Title: Controls Technician

Job Description

As a Controls Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting industrial controls equipment. You will provide electrical and controls support for production operations and the maintenance department, ensuring that plant automated equipment, robots, PLCs, and process control equipment function as designed. You will also be responsible for minor PLC and HMI software changes, as well as improvements and troubleshooting of existing equipment.

Responsibilities

+ Maintain and troubleshoot industrial controls equipment.

+ Provide electrical and controls support for production and maintenance departments.

+ Ensure all plant automated equipment and process control equipment function properly.

+ Perform minor PLC and HMI software changes and troubleshoot existing equipment.

+ Collaborate with production, maintenance supervisors, operators, vendors, and service providers to troubleshoot and improve processes.

+ Adhere to all Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.

+ Work with engineers and technicians on deploying new automated process equipment.

+ Assist engineers in layout and fabrication of machine control panels.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with Siemens TIA-Portal (Preferred)

+ Experience with Rockwell RSStudio

+ Robotics experience, particularly with FANUC (Preferred)

+ Strong understanding of electrical and control systems

+ Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics, diagrams, and blueprints

+ Proficiency in using and reading various types of monitoring and control equipment

+ Problem-solving skills

+ Attention to detail when testing and troubleshooting equipment

+ Data recording and procedure documentation

+ Experience in control panel fabrication and modification

+ Experience in sensor integration

+ Minimum of an associate degree, Certification in Automation, Journeyman Electrician, or significant controls experience in a Manufacturing Environment

Work Environment

Work in a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility located in Weirton, WV. The environment is climate controlled, well-lit, and exceptionally clean, ensuring a comfortable and efficient workspace. The role is on the third shift, Monday through Thursday, from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Weirton, WV.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $35.00/hr.
