    Job Title: Press Assistant

    Job Description

    This position involves assisting the Press Operator in preparing and operating the press machine for printing tasks within a manufacturing facility dedicated to producing food packaging.

    Responsibilities

    + Assist in preparing the press and all components for print jobs.

    + Conduct hourly checks of ink viscosity to ensure quality.

    + Make necessary changes to inks during the printing process.

    + Remove finished film from the machine and load it onto pallets for pickup.

    + Perform additional duties as assigned by the operator and supervisor.

    Essential Skills

    + Production experience (1+ years preferred).

    + Mechanical aptitude and inclination.

    + Ability to read and write (comprehend) English.

    + Comfortable with ink and solvent smells.

    + Experience with press machines highly preferred.

    + Ability to read a tape measure.

    + Ability to lift 40 lbs.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + General labor and production skills.

    + Basic computer skills.

    + Experience using hand tools and machine operation.

    Work Environment

     

    The work is conducted in a clean manufacturing facility with a distinct smell of inks and solvents. Employees are required to wear hair nets and ear plugs, along with steel toes, during shifts. The position involves frequent standing and walking, as well as sitting, bending, stooping, and twisting. Employees must be able to stand for the entire shift (8+ hours/day) and exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 10 to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly. The role includes working night shifts, Sunday-Thursday from 11pm to 7am, or rotating nights from 7pm to 7am.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lenexa, KS.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $21.31 - $22.31/hr.
