Job Title: Journeyman Tool and Die
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Tool and Die professional for our 2nd shift (2:30pm-10:30pm). The successful candidate will be responsible for completing die repair line-ups and assisting with rebuilding and repairing a wide range of progressive dies. In the first week, the candidate should be able to perform die repairs and maintenance, read prints, sharpen tools, and change pins and punches.
Responsibilities
+ Interpret blueprints and use precision measuring devices to create or modify tooling based on job specifications.
+ Set up and operate tool room machines, selecting appropriate materials and tools while adhering to safety protocols.
+ Ensure all tools are sharpened and maintained in optimal condition before storage or release to production.
+ Utilize knowledge of jigs, fixtures, and dies to set up and run test dies, troubleshooting and correcting any issues to meet specifications.
+ Operate hand tools and perform heat treating or welding on components as needed.
+ Comply with all safety regulations, including lockout procedures, while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
+ Complete necessary documentation, including tool logs and condition reports for tracking and data collection.
+ Collaborate effectively with skilled trades and production staff, offering insights into manufacturing capabilities.
+ Undertake additional tasks as directed by supervisors.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in tool and die repair, including presses and troubleshooting.
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
+ Minimum of 8 years of experience in tool and die repair.
+ Experience in grinding and machining.
+ Must possess a Journeyman card as a Tool & Die Repair or Tool Maker.
+ Ability to work all three shifts and weekends as needed.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Print reading proficiency.
+ Experience with die repair and maintenance.

Work Environment
Work in an older but well-maintained metal stamping plant with 18 progressive stamping presses and a large tool room. Majority of work is performed in the tool room, minimizing in-press repairs. Work alongside a team of three die repairmen per shift, ensuring coverage for PMs and down dies. The facility operates six days a week, with current demand extending to seven days due to new die setups and tryouts. Dress code includes jeans/work pants, a provided work shirt, steel-toed boots, safety glasses, and earplugs.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $72238.40 - $72238.40/yr.
