Job Title: Forklift Operator
Job Description
The Production Operator is responsible for supporting manufacturing and warehouse operations by safely operating a Hilo forklift to move raw materials, finished goods, and production supplies. This role combines equipment operation with production line support, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to safety standards.
Responsibilities
+ Safely operate a Hilo (sit down) forklift and overhead crane to unload raw materials, maintain an orderly stockroom, and pull and stage materials for production within the facility.
+ Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
+ Remove finished goods and transfer them to designated areas.
+ Utilize a tape measure for proper dimensions of product for staging for the stamping presses, ensuring accuracy.
+ Maintain accurate records of shipments, receipts, and production supplies.
+ Check product labels, quantities, and lot numbers against work orders.
+ Inspect materials for damage or defects before staging for production.
+ Communicate discrepancies to supervisors and coordinate corrective actions.
+ Track material movement using warehouse management systems (WMS) or production logs.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in operating a Hilo (sit down) lift truck, with a bonus for crane operation experience.
+ Basic mechanical aptitude and the ability to read a tape measure to verify product dimensions.
+ Experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
+ Basic computer skills for inventory management.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
+ Experience with unloading, staging, finished goods, and inventory management.
+ Familiarity with hand tools, inspection processes, general labor, and blueprint reading.
+ Experience in machine operation, setup, and fabrication, including the use of calipers and performing changeovers.

Work Environment
Shift options include six positions on day shift (Monday to Friday, 6:30 am - 3:00 pm) and four positions on night shift (Monday to Friday, 10:30 pm - 7:00 am). Overtime is possible but not guaranteed. The night shift operator will initially train on the day shift until January 5, 2026. The work environment is a modern manufacturing facility with highly automated press equipment. Dress code requires steel-toed boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, a high-visibility vest, and appropriate work attire.

This is a Contract position based out of Stanton, TN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.
