Plans, organizes and provides for nutrition care and education of individuals. Works to coordinate services offered with the clinical dietetics staff and allied health care providers of Exeter Hospital.
Requirements:
+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Counsel for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)
+ NH Licensed Dietitian or within 90 days of hire
+ Registered dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
+ 3 or more years of directly related experience preferred
+ Advanced practice credential (i.e. CNSC) preferred
Requirements:
1. Provide focused Medical Nutrition Therapy to patients during their hospital admission. The levels of care may include but is not limited to: Intensive Care Unit, Progressive Care Unit and Medical-Surgical units.
2. Document care provided in the EMR and communicate nutrition care findings to physicians and allied medical care providers relative to nutrition assessment, care plans and outcomes of medical nutrition interventions and continuing care needs.
3. Engage in daily interdisciplinary rounds with the critical care team as appropriate
4. Enhance professional growth and development through participation in education programs, current literature review, in-service education and workshops
5. Participate in performance improvement (PI) projects in tandem with the Clinical Nutrition Manager to promote continual improvement in hospital clinical nutrition focused policies and procedures.
6. Maintain volume statistics, records and reports reflecting services provided, revenues generated and projected market needs/program proposals.
7. Coordinate nutrition services with other hospital activities/patient care systems and works closely with other clinical dietetic care providers.
8. Conduct individual and group presentations for patients, staff and/or community members in keeping with the goal of improving nutrition knowledge and practice patterns.
9. Precept dietetic interns.
