Overview
We build the data platform that powers Windows’ measurement and insights engine—turning telemetry into trusted metrics, dashboards, and workflows that drive product quality, feature adoption, and business outcomes. As **Product Manager II** you will own the roadmap for platform capabilities that enable analytics and experimentation, while ensuring trust, scale, and ease of use for product teams and data scientists.
Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.
Responsibilities
+ **Define and prioritize platform capabilities** across measurement (metric stores, lineage, quality), analytics (self‑serve dashboards, reporting, discovery), and experimentation support (assignment, scorecards, and monitoring) so partner teams can move from insight to action.
+ **Own data and telemetry quality** : drive ingestion, enrichment, and governance for the signals that feed metrics and dashboards; ensure consistency, low latency, and compliance for downstream consumers.
+ **Enable self‑serve insights** : ship APIs, UIs, templates, and AI agents that reduce onboarding time, standardize metric definitions, and make analysis and reporting accessible across Windows.
+ **Support feature experimentation** : provide the data and tooling (e.g., standardized metrics, scorecard plumbing, observability) that lets product teams and data scientists design, run, and interpret experiments with confidence.
+ **Ensure trust & compliance** : embed guardrails (access controls, data privacy, drift and quality alerts) and work with governance partners to keep insights reliable and defensible.
+ **Drive reliability at scale** : improve platform stability, throughput, and latency so analytics, reporting, and experiment scorecards are fast and dependable for thousands of consumers.
+ **Partner broadly** : collaborate with data science, product, engineering, and business partners to align on metric definitions, data workflows, and platform SLAs.
+ **What success looks like (examples)**
+ **Time‑to‑insight** is shorter: standardize metric definitions and stabilize pipelines so teams get reliable scorecards and dashboards faster.
+ **Platform adoption** grows: more product teams and data scientists use our APIs, UIs, and agents to create and consume insights, with clear onboarding and discoverability.
+ **Reliability & trust** increase: fewer incidents, stronger data quality monitoring, and clearer lineage for core Windows metrics.
