The Xbox Platform for Developers team is home to the engineering work that makes this vision possible, building the developer tools and services that enable game creators to craft incredible experiences, the systems that connect publishers with their audience and help gamers engage with their next favorite games, the platforms on which those games play at their best, and the experiences that turn every screen into an Xbox.
Our team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer for our Backend Services team that enables creators to build multiplayer and progression experiences into their games. This team plays a pivotal role in building, maintaining, and operating services for Xbox, across devices and Cloud. We are looking for a leader who will drive innovation and execution that will delight our game creators.

Responsibilities
• Reviews and improves code quality, security, and maintainability through best practices.
• Provides constructive feedback and coaching during code reviews.
• Designs and contributes to scalable, resilient architecture with customer insights
. • Identifies dependencies and collaborates across teams for integration and validation
. • Drives automation and ensures secure, compliant deployment processes.
• Implements telemetry and monitoring to enhance reliability and system health.
• Responds to live-site issues, conducts postmortems, and drives continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
Additional or preferred qualifications:
Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
