Biology Teacher - Middle and High School

Position Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Biology Teacher to join our middle and high school faculty. The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore life sciences, foster critical thinking, and develop a strong foundation in biological concepts. This role involves creating engaging lessons, assessing student progress, and promoting a positive learning environment that supports academic growth and curiosity.
Minimum Requirements:
+ Bachelor’s Degree or higher required
+ Teacher license/certification, as applicable by state or contract/district
+ One year of experience as a school teacher, preferred
+ Strong knowledge of biological concepts, laboratory safety, and scientific inquiry
+ Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills
+ Ability to use educational technology and digital tools effectively
+ Willingness and ability to accept direct responsibility for safety, wellbeing, or work output of other people
+ Ability to read and implement instructional plans, correspond with parents and administration, and effectively present information and respond to questions from administration, parent, students, staff members, and the general public as requested
+ Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts
+ Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
+ Current CPR if applicable
+ TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
+ Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
+ Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
+ Must be at least 18 years of age
Key Responsibilities:
Instruction & Curriculum Development:
Plan and deliver engaging biology lessons aligned with state standards and school curriculum.
Incorporate hands-on activities, laboratory experiments, and technology to enhance learning.
Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and styles.
Classroom Management:
Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
Implement effective behavior management strategies.
Assessment & Reporting:
Design and administer formative and summative assessments.
Track and report student progress to parents and school administration.
Professional Collaboration:
Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events.
Collaborate with colleagues to integrate interdisciplinary learning opportunities.
Student Support:
Provide academic support and guidance to students.
Encourage participation in science fairs, clubs, and extracurricular activities.
