    We have an exciting opportunity for an Undergraduate Intern with a field of study in Nuclear Engineering to join our Electromagnetic Systems team in San Diego, California!

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Nuclear Code experience: MCNP, SCALE, RELAP, MOOSE/BISON, SERPENT, TRACE.Nuclear Engineering: A working knowledge of nuclear thermal-hydraulic systems to progress the overall reactor designs development is desired. A working knowledge of reactor neutronics is desired.

    + This position may help assist in analyzing and evaluating advanced reactor designs with respect to thermal fluids and coolant pump design of space power systems.

    + This position may assist in analyzing and evaluating advanced reactor designs terrestrial and space reactors.

    + Under general supervision, participates in the day-to-day activities of assigned functional area assisting in the completion of routine and non-routine tasks.

    + Assists in applying knowledge to analyze, investigate and resolve problems.

    + Assists in developing electronic and hard copy reports, records, diagrams and charts.

    + Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.

    + Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

    Job Qualifications:

    + Desired Skills:This position may help assist in analyzing and evaluating advanced reactor designs with respect to neutronics and shielding design of space power systems. Knowledge of nuclear reactor control and feedback mechanisms to progress the overall reactor system is desired. This position may assist in analyzing and evaluating advanced reactor designs of terrestrial and space reactors. A working knowledge of reactor thermal-hydraulics is desired. Attention to detail, ability to work independently and collaboratively is required.

    + Candidates will be required to commit to the 10 week program, two sessions available beginning June 1, 2026 or June 22, 2026.

    + Requires active enrollment and currently attending as an undergraduate student at a recognized college or university.

    + Applicants who will have completed their undergraduate degree by the time the internship program would begin, must be planning to continue in a graduate program immediately following the conclusion of the internship program.

    + 3.0 cumulative GPA preferred.

    + Ability to understand new concepts and apply them accurately.

    + Ability to follow general and detailed instructions as well as organizational policies and procedures.

    + Basic communication and interpersonal skills to enable effective interface with internal professionals.

    + Ability to work independently or in a team environment.

    + Basic computer skills.

    + This position pays at an hourly rate of $29.00 - $31.00/hr., depending on your specific field of study and the number of college years completed.

    **Salary:** $44,590-$66,295
