    Come join Intuit as a Staff Engineer on the TurboTax Online Platform team in the consumer group! You’ll be leading a mission-critical, global TurboTax platform that serves several Intuit products and millions of users.

     

    In this role, you will lead a team of high-performing engineers driving the expansion and acceleration of the platform, developing new capabilities and solving for challenging use cases along the way. You will draw upon deep technical expertise, solid analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills to steer the platform with a vision for the future and a strong data-driven approach. You will quickly establish rapport, credibility, trust and respect throughout the platform organization and be viewed as a team player. This lead role partners closely with stakeholders, engineers across multiple teams, and site reliability engineering.

This is an exciting role if you are highly motivated and creative problem solver with a passion for innovation, continuous modernization and looking to have a blend of hands-on as well as leading the team with architecture and future vision.

    Responsibilities

    + Architecting and developing web, software, mobile apps, prototypes, or proofs of concept (POC’s)

    + Leading the gathering of functional requirements, developing technical specifications, and project & test planning

    + Acting as the technical subject matter expert: mentoring fellow engineers, demonstrating technical expertise, and leading the team in solving challenging programming and design problems

    + Roughly 40-60% hands-on coding

    + Generate technical artifacts (docs & decks) to communicate architectural and design options, and educate development teams and business users

    + Resolve defects/bugs during QA testing, pre-production, production, and post-release patches

    + Work cross-functionally with various Intuit teams, Product Management, Quality Coach, Tax Expert, Site Reliability Engineer(SRE), different product lines, or business units to drive forward results.

    + Demonstrate a passion for developing well-architected, elegant web and/or mobile cloud-native apps and staying up-to-date with the industry's latest trends

    + Experience with Agile Development, SCRUM, or Extreme Programming methodologies

    Qualifications

    + 8+ years experience of full Software Development LifeCycle on highly available and scalable web applications and microservices.

    + Expert in designing and implementing cloud-native reliable and scalable SaaS with strong focus on operational excellence, system observability and monitoring. Highly skilled in troubleshooting and resolving complex production issues. Proficiency in Splunk and Wavefront is a plus.

    + Expert in Java/J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, Spring WebFlux or Reactor. Proficiency in Kotlin is a plus.

    + Experience with container orchestration, Kubernetes, Docker.

    + Experience in making long-term improvements to the reliability, availability, scalability, and performance of software systems.

    + Bar Raiser for high quality and engineer rigor: Code Review, Test Automation (Unit, Integration, Performance), Continuous Integration & Deployment (CI/CD). Proficiency in Karate is a plus.

    + Strong leadership experience: has a proven track record of delivering customer-loved products timely, empowering teammates, leading technology changes, and cultivating a mindset of innovation.

    + BS/MS in computer science or equivalent related work experience.

    + Excellent communication skills: demonstrated ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.

    + Experience with functional programming is a plus.

    + Experience with Infrastructure as Code ( CloudFormation, Chef, or similar) is a plus.
