GENERAL STATEMENT OF THE** **FUNCTION

EDUCATION AND/OR** **EXPERIENCE

• **High School Diploma or GED** – Minimum baseline for entry into the field.

• **Associate Degree** in Heating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration or Environmental Control Technologies – Preferred by many employers for advanced roles.

• **Technical Certifications** :

+ **EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification (Section 608)** – Required for handling refrigerants.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** , include the following. The Lead HVAC Technician oversees the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems across residential, commercial, or institutional facilities. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, ensuring high-quality service delivery and team performance.

Key Responsibilities

+ Perform electrical construction tasks, including the installation of electrical components and equipment, such as wiring, switches, and conduits, and terminating cables; install wiring and lighting systems.

+ Perform electrical installation in new buildings, or in existing buildings or industry facilities.

+ Perform basic electrical maintenance tasks.

+ Perform troubleshooting and diagnostic functions.

+ Install components of electrical systems, such as circuit breakers, transformers, and other protective devices.

+ Install, test, and maintain electrical equipment, such as pumps, motors, generators, compressors, and transformers.

+ Install and repair electrical wiring.

+ Install and maintain lighting fixtures, lighting controls, and electrical systems.

+ Provide electrical engineering expertise regarding electrical installation, equipment, and systems.

+ Install and maintain electrical systems in industrial facilities.

+ Maintain electrical equipment and wiring, such as circuit breakers, transformers, switches, and lamps.

Requirement
