Introduction
The Senior Business Development Leader for Banking BPO is a high-impact commercial role responsible for driving strategic revenue growth within the banking and financial services sector. This senior leader owns the creation and execution of Go-to-Market (GTM) strategies, leads complex sales cycles, and develops long-term executive relationships to position IBM Consulting as a premier provider of Banking BPO and digitally enabled operations solutions. The role requires a proven track record in enterprise sales, deep industry knowledge, and strong leadership in shaping large, multi-tower transformation deals.
Your role and responsibilities
Go-to-Market (GTM) Leadership
*
Design and execute comprehensive GTM strategies for Banking BPO offerings, ensuring alignment with IBM Consulting’s growth objectives.
*
Identify high-value market opportunities, define competitive positioning, and drive market penetration initiatives.
*
Collaborate with marketing and offering teams to develop targeted campaigns, client value propositions, and sales enablement assets.
Senior Sales Leadership & Revenue Growth
*
Lead the full end-to-end enterprise sales cycle, from pipeline generation to deal closure.
*
Build, manage, and grow a strong pipeline of Banking BPO opportunities across priority banking segments.
*
Shape and negotiate large, complex, multi-year outsourcing and transformation deals.
*
Own and exceed annual sales, bookings, and revenue targets.
*
Apply consultative and insight-led selling to uncover client needs and position IBM solutions.
Executive Client Engagement
*
Establish and deepen C-level and senior stakeholder relationships within banks and financial institutions.
*
Serve as a trusted advisor on operational transformation, BPO strategy, and digital reinvention for banking operations (KYC/AML, lending, payments, risk & compliance, customer operations, etc.).
*
Represent IBM Consulting in executive briefings, industry events, and strategic client sessions.
Cross-Functional Leadership
*
Partner with solution design, delivery, finance, legal, and global teams to ensure alignment and quality of proposals.
*
Drive governance and cadence during complex pursuits, ensuring smooth handover to delivery.
*
Enable and support account teams in expanding existing BPO footprints within key clients.
Market, Industry & Competitive Insight
*
Analyze banking sector trends, regulatory developments, competitor positioning, and emerging technologies to guide GTM and offering evolution.
*
Provide strategic feedback to influence future BPO solution enhancements.
Required technical and professional expertise
*
Experience in business development, enterprise sales, or consulting within banking or financial services.
*
Proven success selling BPO, managed services, or large-scale transformation/outsourcing deals with significant ACV/TCV.
*
Demonstrated ability to build and execute large-scale GTM plans.
*
Deep understanding of banking operations, regulatory context, and digital transformation trends.
*
Outstanding negotiation, communication, and executive relationship management skills.
*
Experience influencing in consulting environment.
