    Job Title: Systems Integration and Test Engineer

    Job Description

    The Systems Integration and Test Engineer will design and develop advanced test programs, processes, and systems to measure the functionality and integrity of products and services. The role involves leading test processes, writing complex test procedures, and ensuring product reliability meets customer specifications. This position requires collaboration with engineering teams to enhance product performance and includes technical consultation and leadership responsibilities.

    Responsibilities

    + Lead the test processes and approach on assigned systems.

    + Write complex test procedures and protocols to assess product reliability.

    + Monitor the gathering of test data and evaluate test results to ensure compliance with customer specifications.

    + Develop complex test simulations to evaluate product reactions under different conditions.

    + Define debug protocols for test hardware and software.

    + Analyze test cases and scenarios and report results.

    + Collaborate with other engineering groups to improve or upgrade product performance.

    + Provide technical consultation and leadership for lower-level employees.

    + Plan and execute testing during Factory Acceptance Testing, System Acceptance Testing, Interface testing, and mission rehearsals.

    + Direct testing and evaluation of systems and equipment in support of the mission.

    + Direct evaluation and integration of new Antennas, RF equipment, Modems, Front-End Processors, and recorders.

    + Travel to ground station sites for installation and testing.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in systems requirements, integration, and testing.

    + Experience with ground stations and test procedures.

    + Knowledge of network protocols and STEM degree with 6-8 years of experience.

    + Ability to develop detailed test procedures and documentation.

    + Execution of test procedures and defect recording.

    + Assessment of system-level requirements with regards to test and verification.

    + Development of test software/scripts/emulators (such as Python).

    + Familiarity with network analysis tools such as Wire Shark.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Experience with operation of test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and network analyzers.

    + Knowledge of antenna and space-to-ground communications systems technology.

    + Understanding of antenna radio frequency communication and interfaces.

    + Experience in modulation and demodulation of satellite communication signals.

    + Familiarity with CCSDS data link protocols and data packets.

    + Experience with monitor and control systems.

    + Proficiency in antenna ground system architecture test planning, integration, and execution.

    + Understanding of satellite/ground commanding and telemetry/data encryption.

    + Experience with time and frequency distribution systems.

    + Experience working in an Agile development environment.

    + Familiarity with government deliverable policies, guidelines, and standards.

    Work Environment

    The position offers a hybrid work environment with a combination of remote and on-site work at laboratories in Fulton, MD or Columbia, MD. Infrequent travel to ground station sites is required for installation and testing. The role involves contributing to the development of new systems for space, specifically the Space Weather Follow-On (SWFO) mission, which provides critical space weather observations.

    This is a Contract position based out of Columbia, MD.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $140000.00/hr.
