What You Can Expect
The Procurement Sr Director is responsible for all aspects of the organization’s purchasing function. Responsible for planning and directing the procurement of goods and services to reduce costs and improve quality. Develop, lead, and execute regional and global direct and indirect sourcing strategies for raw materials, medical instruments, and outside processing as well as indirect materials and services. Accountable for fulfillment, including delivery and quality, in addition to effective, robust, ongoing cost reduction initiatives.
How You'll Create Impact
+ Develop commodity and supplier strategies to achieve challenging year-over-year cost reduction results through supplier collaboration and competition.
+ Work collaboratively with product development, engineering, commercial, quality, and other functions in developing regional and global sourcing strategies.
+ Create project plans, implement strategies, and execute plans in coordination with all stakeholders.
+ Perform sophisticated analyses of market dynamics and drive and recommend decisions accordingly to meet business objectives.
+ Investigate and analyze supplier’s financial condition, technical competence, facilities, and production techniques to ensure adequate supplier capacity and capability.
+ Develop contingency plans for assigned commodities and strategic suppliers.
+ Develop ongoing negotiation strategies and defend against short- and long-term market forces which affect the company.
+ Apply financial analyses, commodity and currency hedging, and other techniques to minimize financial risks.
+ Continuously improve key performance indicators for on-time delivery, quality, inventory, and overall supply chain cost.
+ Create and manage teams to develop strategies and negotiations that ensure continuous supply and timely procurement of strategic goods and services at the most favorable total cost.
+ Ensure that all manufacturing site purchasing departments establish, maintain, and follow purchasing procedures consistent with corporate and group purchasing policies. Represent the function’s needs to ensure appropriate tools are available to enable procurement staff to perform as efficiently as possible.
+ Collaborate with counterparts across the company to coordinate purchasing of common categories. Share, evaluate, and improve company procurement practices and assess. Recommend systems improvements.
+ Coordinate the development and installation of measurements to monitor performance of purchasing personnel based on analysis of price acceptance, quality, delivery, and inventory management.
+ Routinely challenge team members to find opportunities for continuous improvement and to raise the bar for performance. Partner with other key stakeholders and search for innovative opportunities.
+ Access, understand, and develop insights on our markets, technology, and adjacent trends globally.
+ Optimize a balanced approach in matching the business strategy to the availability of product. Align the functions into a seamless operation that supports outstanding customer service and accelerates products to market and maximizes the manufacturing network.
+ Act as a change agent for continuous improvement efforts that cross suppliers, clients, sites, and processes.
+ Develop direct reports and provide for talent management and development opportunities throughout the organization reporting into the role.
General Success Criteria:
+ Procurement will be actively involved in the end-to-end process for strategic procurement categories and will have demonstrated a clear and meaningful impact.
+ The relationship between this role, Procurement senior leadership, Procurement team members, and cross-functional stakeholders will be working well with no confusion regarding roles and responsibilities.
+ Procurement performance internal metrics and supporting data collection processes will be in place, actively monitored, and viewed as credible and accurate.
+ Suppliers will be actively managed and developed using a common scorecard process.

Your Background
+ Bachelors Degree (Masters Degree, MBA preferred) in Manufacturing, Engineering, Industrial Psychology, Industrial Engineering, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
+ At least ten years of purchasing experience across a full range of commodity categories.
+ A commensurate combination of education and experience may be considered.At least five years of experience in leadership or with a top-tier management consulting firm preferred.
+ Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) certification strongly preferred.
+ Six Sigma or Lean Sigma certification preferred.
+ Operating experience strongly preferred.
+ Proven success leading within a global culture and matrixed environment.
+ Experience leading multiple cross-functional and inter-site project teams within operations with results-oriented performance.
Travel Expectations
Approximately 25% globally with periods of increased travel possible.
Salary Range: $191,571 - $239,463
